Brand Creation and Packaging Design for Schäfermeier Germany Soups
cyclos design GmbH - Schäfermeier Lieblingsgericht
Eating is no longer just a matter of how food looks but also of expectations. Expectations from convenience food used to be about quick preparation only. But now a home-cooked taste is also wanted, preferably without any additives.
Schäfermeier is a traditional medium-sized meat-product manufacturer from the Münsterland region with around 200 branches. They recognised the trend for a home-cooked taste years ago. The company uses a very gentle method of preserving its soups, stews and curried-sausage meals thereby maintaining a taste which is completely natural and "as if home-cooked".
Our task was to convey the idea of freshness via new packaging. We first researched customer needs. Then, by using studies such as the "Food Report" and long-term trends from the "Convenience Food" sector, we identified various types of food consumer. Under the umbrella of the new "Lieblingsgericht (Favourite Meal)" product name, we developed a system and imagery for the different product packages. The result: a feast for the eyes, a fresh look for shelves, and plenty of purchasing appeal!
